About us

ROYA (Romanian Orthodox Youth in America) is an auxiliary organization of the Romanian Orthodox Archdiocese in the Americas.

The purpose of this organization is to promote and strengthen authentic Orthodox Christian spirituality among the youth under the jurisdiction of our Archdiocese, to contribute to moral renewal, the formation of a Christian conscience, and an Orthodox Christian culture among the youth which make up the new generation of Orthodox Christians on the North American continent.

The mission of ROYA is to guide each young person to become an active member of the Church and to experience Orthodox Faith through participation in the Holy Mysteries of the Church.

Young people between the ages of 14 and 30 are included in ROYA.  They are divided into two large groups:  adolescents age 14-19, and youth age 20-30.

Each parish should have a youth organization, which should participate actively in the life of the parish, support the parish council and help insure the success of activities.

ROYA consists of all youth organizations in our American and Canadian parishes.

ROYA is under the supervision of a priest who is the spiritual Father of the organization and insures that all its activities are carried out in good order.
